From 3pm on Wednesday 21st May, join BirdLife Malta at the Malta National Aquarium to celebrate Natura 2000 Day. We’re offering discounted entry to the aquarium where you can learn all about Malta’s seabirds, as well as experience the aquarium and take part in educational activities. Many of Malta’s Natura 2000 sites can be found along the extensive coastline, where the sea-cliffs provide a home for the Islands’ enigmatic seabirds.
The 21st May is the very first Natura 2000 day which aims to raise awareness for the issues concerning the preservation of Natura 2000 sites by make a gesture of social awareness in favour of preserving the natural ecosystem and the birds that inhabit it. Every year, the gestures will contribute to the conservation of a particular Natura 2000 site in Europe.
